The EC-400 is a complete pumping system designed to remove condensation water from split-system air conditioning and heat pump equipment when gravity drainage is not possible. The pump will push the water through a hose uphill to a drain location in your home (or outside) of your choice. The compact design means components can be placed into the air handler or the pump can be placed up to 3' above the air handler in the ceiling void. A three position symmetrical float sensing system assures reliable ON, OFF and OVERFLOW DETECTION functions. Intake tubing, tube clamps, adhesive tape and vent tubing are all included.
The Electronic Condensate Unit consists of two parts—the water collection reservoir and control unit/pump. The water collector reservoir is to be positioned near the bottom of the air handler. The control unit / pump can be affixed internal or external to the air handler.
Automatic operation is achieved through the use of a float / switch device inside the water collection reservoir that turns the pump on when approximately 1/2 inch (14mm) of water collects in the water collection reservoir, and automatically switches off when the water collection reservoir drains to approximately 3/8 inch (10mm).
